Borobudur temple is the world’s largest Buddhist temple. Built in 9th century, Borobudur temple today has turned into a tourism magnet that attracts millions of tourists every year. So many activities you can do here. Borobudur Temple has been somewhat like a must visit destination in yogyakarta. This temple was built in three tiers: a pyramidal base with five concentric squere terraces, the trunk of a cone with three circular platforms and at the top a monumental stupa. The walls and balistrades are decorated with fine low reliefs, covering a total surface area of 2,500 meter squares. Around the circular platforms are 72 openwork stupas, each containing a statue of the buddha.

2. Sunset or Sunrise
Sunrise borobudur: You can enjoy the sunnrise at the top of Borobudur Temple.you can climb up the temple at 05:00 am and catching the epic sunrise directly from the temple. The scenary was amazing because the sun rising between 2 mountains (Merapi volcano and mt.Merbabu)
Sunset borobudur: If you cant enjoy the sunrise, you can enjoy the sunset. Borobudur Temple was closed for general visitors at 17.00 pm, and after this only open for special guest to enjoy the sunset. You can imagine not many visitors at the temple and you can ejoy the epic sunset behind Menoreh hills. After enjoy the sunset,dinner has serve for the travelers at Manohara restaurant inside of Borobudur temple park area. So which one do you want to choose? Sunrise or sunset? or do you want both?
3. Cycling around Borobudur Temple
Because the Borobudur temple complex are very spacious, which is 2500m2 and does not allow you to walk around this temple area. You can use the bikes provided for rent, this makes it easy for you if you want to go around the temple complex.
4. Take a pictures
Which can’t be missed when we are on a trip, yep very well that is taking pictures. This is always done to capture the moment when you go somewhere. In Borobudur temple, you can take as many pictures as you can in interesting spots.
5. Buy some souvenir

Ranging from Clothes, Hats, Key chains, Bracelets and much more. And all of them are made from the crafts of local people.
But there is one activity like riding an elephant, this actually shouldn’t be done. Besides we know the reason because elephants are animals that are not intended to transport humans, elephants are protected animals. This has actually drawn a lot of protests from LSM. LSM also know as Lembaga Swadaya Masyarakat, is a is an organization established by individuals or groups of people who voluntarily provide services to the general public without participation to obtain results from their activities. But it’s still operated for elephant riding activities.
Besides that, because it is the center of a destination that is definitely visited by tourists and every year it’s always crowded. Around the Borobudur Temple complex became a lot of rubbish scattered, this is due to many factors such as the trash that is available less, the available trash can also quickly fill up.
Not only rubbish, because many tourists throw tantrums like climbing the walls of temples and stupas, broke the reliefs, and also scribbles on the stone temples.
